Cable Engineering

The intent of the route survey is to gather information to facilitate accurate installation and mitigate risk to the cable. A combination of in-person Route Working Group meetings and web-based meetings allow our customers full visibility to the survey results and engineering solution.

A SubCom-directed survey is the basis for a reliable cable system that incorporates optimal armor and burial recommendations. The cable engineers work closely with the optical designers, the cable manufacturing facility, and the installation team to facilitate a successful installation. Factory integration plans, cable ship tank plans, and marine installation plans are prepared to meet the specialized needs of the clients, all of which are coordinated through the cable engineering process. All relevant documentation and change control adhere to our ISO processes.
